Miles: This year has been quite uncharacteristic. The year Greivis tried to "do too much" when the team was in a bind, they dropped close ones, and couldn't mount comebacks.

Bij,

Nice thought, a MD team that doesn't cave in when difficulty arises. Other than the Juan Dixon/Stevie Blake teams, not the norm. Should show you my email back and forth with my brother about Terps hoops history. Pretty funny.

Chris, the night Nicholas hit the shot to beat UNCW, I thought you mom was going to have a heart attack and I also thought that someone was going to put their fist through the ceiling. That was probably my favorite buzzer beater of all time.

What a huge win on Saturday. The cake will be so much sweeter come this Wednesday. The energy in Comcast is going to be over the top. I just wish somehow, the University would switch the game and play it at Cole.

Jordan Williams is a curious player. He knows the game as evidenced by his ability to slip around inside and receive passes with the correct hand raised to alert the passer. However, this is the second game in a row he has been housed by stronger, more aggressive players in the names of Favours and Booker. Then there are these too infrequent moments when he acts the bear, growls, and snatches a board. Still, these displays are too few. Note: 5 rebounds against Clemson.
Vasquez, on the other hand, can drag the Terps but so far. He's a second tier college player looking at a career playing ball overseas. I love him. He's fun to watch and somehow Earnest Graham-level endearing, but if you're expecting to ride him to the final 4, ain't happening. If he were to somehow alter his game to a more Joey-point guard-esque demeanor, a la Stevie Blake, he might stick in the NBA, but Zebras don't change stripes. The Vasquez shimmy doesn't make a character, it reveals his, and that is not a player capable of ego subordination necessary to endure in the world's toughest league.
