Week 15 and 16 Basketball Power Poll

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Sorry about the lack of posts from me recently – I’ve been tied up with preparing/taking the LSAT. Here are your latest Power Polls:

Week 15
1. Duke – 1.00
2. Maryland – 2.25
3. Wake – 3.75
4. Virginia Tech – 4.00
5. Clemson – 5.00
6. Florida State – 6.00
7. Georgia Tech – 6.125
8. Virginia – 7.875
9. Boston College – 9.375
10. North Carolina – 10.625
11. North Carolina State & Miami (tie) – 11

Week 16:
1. Duke – 1.00
2. Maryland – 2.00
3. Clemson – 3.57
4. Virginia Tech – 4.57
5. Wake – 5.00
6. Florida State – 5.28

8. Boston College/UVA – 8.71 (TIE)
10. NC State – 10.28
11. UNC – 10.57
12. Miami – 11.71

As you can see, the only consensus in the conference this year are that Maryland and Duke are the top 2 teams and Miami is at the bottom. The rest? Draw numbers, straws, whatever you want. It seems to change on a daily basis. Should make the ACC Tournament really interesting! Speaking of the ACC tournament, I’ll be doing a preview of Maryland’s chances of winning it, what it means if they don’t win it, and what seed Maryland will likely receive. So stay tuned!

Latest ACC Power Poll

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Here is the latest ACC Basketball Power Poll. Duke has a pretty solid hold of the number one spot, with all but one of our voters placing the Blue Devils at #1. Miami continues to be…undecided as to where they should rank. Our pollsters have ranked Miami as high as 4th and as low as 9th. UVA, former consensus pick for 12th in the conference, continues their climb out of the basement with their perfect ACC record. Can the Hoos keep it up? Where do you think teams belong? Be sure to give us your feedback!

1. Duke 1.16
2. UNC  1.83
3. Clemson 3.5
4. Ga. Tech 5.5
5. FSU  5.66
6. MD   5.833
7. Miami  6.5

8. Va. Tech     7

9. Wake 8

10. UVA 10.66
11. BC  10.83
12. NC State    11.5

ACC Basketball Power Poll – Week 5

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Here you go folks. Not many changes this week. MD fell a spot and is now tied with Va. Tech for 7th. Not sure why people dropped the Terps after a win, but that’s neither here nor there. Some people had MD as low as 10, which just seems crazy to me.

The only other big change was that UVA is no longer the unanimous #12 pick! Always look on the bright side of life UVA!

1.UNC (1.5)
2.Duke (1.58)
3.Clemson(3.41)
4.FSU(4.91)
5.Ga. Tech(5.25)
6.Wake(6.75)
7.Maryland/Va. Tech(7)
9.NC State(8.91)
10.Miami(9.33)
11.BC(10.66)
12.UVA(11.66)

ACC Basketball Power Poll – Week 4

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Sorry for the late post of this, folks.
Here are your rankings for week 4:
1.UNC 1.42
2.Duke 1.57
3.Clemson 4.14
4.FSU 5
5.Ga.Tech 5.14
6.MD 6.57
7.Wake 7
8.Va. Tech 7.85
9.NC State 8.71
10.BC & Miami (TIE)
9.28
12.Virginia 12

A few notes – for the first time, we had a unanimous vote for one of the schools – UVA receives the honor of having everyone vote them as their #12 team in the conference.
Duke and UNC again flip-flopped this week. Clemson, Ga. Tech, UMD and Wake all remain the same. Va. Tech and NC State both moved up while BC moved up one and is tied with Miami, who dropped 2 spots, at 10. Again, please let us know what you think in the comment section!

Week 3 Basketball Power Poll

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Sorry this is late folks. The week 4 poll will actually be coming out in the next day or so.

We’re starting to see some things sort themselves out in terms of rankings. It also appears that all of the Raycom Bloggers are wise to Miami’s weak schedule thus far, ranking the Hurricanes at 7.35 on average, despite their undefeated record. UVA seems to be the near unanimous choice for 12th place, with just one pollster not putting them at 12. Enjoy and let us know what you think!
1. Duke – 1.28
2. UNC – 1.92
3. Clemson – 3.28
4. FSU – 5.14
5. GT – 5.64
6. MD – 6.35
7. Wake – 7.21
8. Miami – 7.35
9. VT – 8.85
10. NC State – 9.07
11. BC – 9.92
12. UVA – 11.92
